Let’s head Out & About with Heather, a CanUworktomorrow member from Tempe, Arizona.
All week long its go, go, go. I feel like I’m running around like a crazy woman with my head cut-off. Hmmm, maybe it’s just simply caffeine overload. Today was a bit crazy. Surely, I’m not alone here? There just isn’t enough time to get everything done. So, on Saturday mornings I play catch-up.
Typically, I sleep until 8 a.m. and wake up to the glorious smell of freshly brewed coffee. A fabulous way to start the day if you ask me, right? Right. A little Splenda, a little half and half, a few ice cubes and I’m good to go. As I’m enjoying my splendid cup of joe I usually start my laundry and clean my apartment. And while the clothes are drying I hit the gym. The 45-minute dry time is perfect for my 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of lifting, and 5 minutes of stretching. More fabulousness to my day if you ask me! By 10 o’clock my place is spotless, everything’s in its place and I’m ready for the new week! Yippee. Now it’s time for the “fun” errands.
By 11 a.m. I’m out the door. It’s time for the fun stuff. There’s a method to my madness on Saturday. Really there is. I have a very succinct plan – in essence I make one big circle when running errands. Save’s gas and money, and that leaves funds for the wardrobe.
Here goes… I turn out of my complex, and go across the street. And I magically appear at Starbucks. Ahhh, yes…I’m lucky to have one right across the street. I order my drink of choice: Iced Venti Green Tea with 1 pump of Classic syrup. Yum! I highly recommend a treat to one self while completing your errands. Don’t you? For me my nice cool beverage does nicely.
Alright, treat in hand and it’s time for the rundown. I head over to my favorite outdoor shopping center, Tempe Marketplace. Dry cleaners. Michael’s. Ulta. Target. Barnes & Noble. Grocery store. Home. I make one big circle. Seriously, I do. I’m a little Type A personality, can’t you tell? Funny, I know. But, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right…?
After the groceries are away, I slip into my suit and hit the pool. It’s time for a little relaxation. I round out the afternoon with
a frosty fruity beverage, a little sun, a little reading. Oh, and let’s not forget the sunscreen. A wonderful day if you ask me. But, it’s not over yet – it’s time for date night! First things first, I watch the beautiful sunset. The sky turns various shades of orange, pink, purple. Ahhh, it’s a sight to see and one I never tire of. A wonderful transition to evening, date night here I come!
My guy and I hit one of our regular haunts, The Parlor or Juan’s, and have a scrumptious dinner with a sinful chocolate dessert. Oh, and let’s not forget a cocktail or a glass of vino. We usually make it a point of going to locally owned restaurants rather than chain restaurants. And as “regulars” it’s pretty cool to be known by name by the staff and they know what you like to eat it’s a special touch of sorts. And it does have its perks if you know what I mean. Wink, wink. When we aren’t heading to one of our favorite eateries you might just catch us at Sun Devil Stadium gearing up to watch the Devils in-action or ready for tip-off at a Phoenix Suns game. On a side note, we do hope there will be a basketball season this year, fingers crossed.
